3.24.10

hey everyone, everything is going well down here. I've still mben working on my lessons, what we do is take one point in the lesson everyday and we summarize it in about 45 seconds, its really helpful. so whats happened since last Wednesday is, Thursday we had our planning session in the morning, then the elders from Dorrego showed up for our district meeting, they decided to wait at the chapel for us in the hot sun, lol. silly elders. then later that night we had a dinner with a family, the Fragapane family and they made us some really good pizzas, there are actually a couple Fragapanes in our ward, I guess the dad went through his series of wives and has kids of all ages, hes like 65 and has like two daughters my age, that and a grand kid that's like 25 ish, sick! then Friday it was pretty boring, in the morning me and my comp started listening to some weir al that i have on my ipod and we started laughing, it was fun. lol then later that day we went to pick up the pres over relief society, we had a lesson with and investigator, her name is graciela and she is a middle aged woman, but shes been going through a really hard time in life and decided that she would come to church 2 Sundays ago, and then we were able to teach her some more, and now we have a baptism for her this Saturday, wish us luck! then later that day we had our soccer time, it been really fun playing that. I'm glad that they do that here with the youth as well. although getting hit in the family jewels isn't too fun, ha ha. then Saturday we had our zone conference and aslo a special conference for all the youth in the stake, elder bown from the seventy of the area came and gave a good talk. ha ha he gave a story aout the turkeys that learned how to fly and that after the class they were so excited that they learned how to fly that they walked home. lol. our mission pres liked the idea and so at any given moment he would be like "fly elders" ha ha! after the whole conference we were outside waiting for our bus to come and he drives by with his family and he stops and is like " Elders Fly!" and he starts flapping his arms! lol its was so funny, but whats even funnier is that elder bowne was in the back of the car, ha ha it really looked like he was making fun of him but I don't think he realized it. then Sunday I gave a talk in our ward, no I'm still not good at giving public speeches but its getting better, i felt like I did a good job for once. it was about our duty as members to help the mission work, its too bad hardly anyone showed up for church though. lol. kinda silly how that all works out. then later that day we went out and I was feeling really un motivated for working, and i was a little grumpy. but then I found two pesos and it was all better, ha ha. this last month i had fasted that the lord would help me out a little bit with my money, well he took a little bit too seriously and thought he would humor me, ha ha. but i have been finding alot of loose change, maybe next month I'll pray for a lot of help, lol. then Monday I made this awesome omelet for breakfast, it would have been amazing if I only had real meat instead of hot dogs. then later that night we taught our other investigator Emanuel, hes about 18, but its been going a little bit weird with him recently, he seems to be avoiding the baptismal date we have with him. then yesterday we have been focusing on our contacts, we have a oal of 40 every day. its so hard to get even close, i had an idea though, I'm thinking that if i just get up in a bus that's mostly full there's 40 in one hit, what do you guys think?? i think it sounds pretty good. lol. then yesterday we taught Graciela again, we still have one more lesson and we should be done, then later in the night we passed by this shop and there was this crazy guy out side that started talking to us. he was obsessed about the conferate us, he wants a confederate flag.lol. i guess he had talked with some other missionaries before. well thats about my week in a nutshell. that and i have been lacking the motivation and the optimism, any ideas??. well thats it.

3.17.10

hey family, so the last week has had its ups and downs, we have been working really hard
and we have three baptismal dates set up since i got here, my comp is really good at teaching and Ive learned more from him than anyone else. he is really dedicated to the schedule. its really nice to get something done. so this last week Ive also been fighting a nasty cold. Ive had it since Sunday and most of it except the obnoxious cough and tons of mucus! its so much fun! that and lack of sleep and the horrible flavor of the cold medicine i bought just tops it off. but its all good. so the other day we were walking and i saw a parakeet in the street, so i caught it and we had him for a little bit but then he escaped. too bad, it would have bn fun to have a pet. lol. so many stories this week where to start. so Thursday we did splits and we stopped by this little shop that had fresh churros, well i didn't know they were filled wtih Dulce de leche, so i got it all over my tie and pants, ha ha at least they were really good. then we went over to a recent converts house, only he and his brothers are members, but we caught the family at a good time and were able to teach them all. then on Sunday in church our lunches calender was passed around and we have almost everyday filled for lunches for the next two weeks. that made me really happy. so one thing i have been working on with my comp is keeping the lessons short and simple. we take no mor than 45 seconds with every principle in the lessons. its really helped me to memorize order and say it how i want and how they need to hear it. so all last night it was raining, and there was so much thunder it was pretty cool. oh and today we watched nacho libre. ha ha its so much more funny when you can understand the Spanish in the background, they're saying alot of silly stuff. well that's about all i can think of at the moment, i didn't bring my journal do fill in the details. oh and congrats chels on your little puppy, she looks like a cutie, wish i could see her! i love you all! have an awesome week

hey a couple of things i could use some help with are that my debit and credit cards expired, could you activate the debit card and hold on to the credit, also can you sen me photos of the family? the members always ask me and i have none to show. that would be awesome!

3.11.10

hey family, its that time again, so this last week went by fairly quick. so first off i got a new comp, his name is elder frias and hes from Peru, he is a really hard worker, i think that I've done more with him in the last two days than i would normally do in a week, its nice to actually have someone show me how to get it done and done right. well have a lot of success. so today we didn't do a whole lot, we just stayed in the house mostly. kinda gay because my new are is just right outside of Bahia Blanca. its a little place called antlantida. so far it seems really nice, although i haven't gotten to know the members yet. just a few. so last Friday we went to tres arroyos to do splits with the elders out there, that was a fun day just to get out of my area and be with other elders. anyways its about in the middle between Bahia and necochea. and its fairly small, like the area I'm in now. so when we were out tracting the elder i was with decided that he had to make a bathroom run so we go back to the apartment, were there only ten minutes and the door buzzer goes off, so i look out the balcony and it was the j dubs! so i was like don't its the j dubs but he already answered and said he would come to the door. so we open the door and their faces were like, oh Mormons, great. lol then they shared a little about them and we shared a little about us. so it went well. also in the city there are a bunch of grapefruit trees, so i picked one to try it out, they were actually really good. its too bad there aren't where I'm at now, that would be awesome, make some juice and stuff. then later that day i found out i was being transferred to another area, then Saturday i spent the morning packing then we bought my ticket, and we went to the Cuello family's house. they were the only ones that i really cared to see. so we made home made noodles and some sauce and had dinner with them. it was really nice. then Sunday we went to the terminal and i left. 4 1/2 hours later i was in my area and later that night we had a dinner with some members. so not a bad intro in the area. then yesterday we got right to work. its been so much work but well have a ton of tisms in no time. now i just have to get the lessons down and ill be good to go. well that should be my week in a nutshell. thanks for all your letters and stuff, hope all is going well for you guys. i love you all!

3.3.10

hello again family, so this weeks update. so today we went to the plaza near the beach to look around at all the stuff, and then we met up with most of the other elders there and decided that we should go have an asado at the zls house. it a decent sized house and four elders live there with room to spare, man i wish ours was bigger, all well. before we left i went to a store and bought monopoly. we get there and were setting it up and i realize that the cards have no information on them for rent and stuff. it was a fake copy, just like everything else here, so i was pretty pissed. but e went back and i explained it and they switched it out with the "deluxe" fake edition, its all pretty ghetto but should work just fine. but we walked everywhere today. from our house to the beach, and from the zls house to the beach, then from the beach to our house, so in all it would be like 100 blocks. very tiring. but at least the asado was fun. so last night after we finished everything we went to an all you can eat pizza place and ate all we could eat. ha ha. the pizzas were very basic but there were also empanadas and pastas, it was really pricey though, hat was the only bad thing. also yesterday we had splits with the zls, they came to our area and man I've never worked so hard or had so much success. the elder i went with is very presin so we taught two lessons and made alot of contacts. it was hard but i felt really satisfied with it. its about time somebody had showed me how to get the job done. hopefully my next comp is like that. so i think im going to leve my area this next transfer. its coming up on the 7th and i feel like i could be going. i kinda hope i do, I'm getting annoyed with my area. i like my comp alot and we get along really well so that's a downside. who know if my next one will be as good. hopefully so. so the other day i had a dream that i was back home, and i was talking wit someone out in the front yard and i was saying, " you know how people say the mission just flies by,well its true, i don't remember anything past quequen." lol, then i woke up and it wasn't real and i was a little disappointed, ha ha.so this las week i heard about this elder in the mission that got his jiggy on with some chick in the ward and was sent home the next day. anyways so me and my com decided to play a joke on some of his mission buddies, so they usually call and on time when they did i answered and told them he went to bahia blanca for an interview with the pres, ha ha, so they actually believed it and it went throuh our zone and the zl got nervous and called him, he was like where are you are you all right, and stuff like that. haha i didnt think so many people would believe it. then last Thursday this older woman in our branch wanted us to come help her out, she had us burn a bunch of cardboard in her backyard, so we had ourselves a bonfire, it was a fun service, if only it was all like that. also another thing that was pretty dumb is that we didn't receive our monthly money until three days later, that was pretty hard, and ridiculous that they couldn't have it in on time. eh whatever, its all fixed now. so that's it for the week, hope all is well with you guys, i love you all!
